WP Migrate Pro adds direct push and pull migrations to the database migration and full-site export workflow of WP Migrate. Move a WordPress database and site files between two WordPress sites for development, staging, or another environment.
Transfer full sites or selected database content
Push or pull the database, themes, plugins, media uploads, and other wp-content files. Moving these together can create a complete copy of a site in the destination environment. For a more focused database transfer, choose which tables to migrate and exclude post types.
Find and replace can update database values while preserving serialized data, which records string lengths that must stay consistent. WP Migrate unserializes the data, replaces matching strings, then serializes it again for the database. You can also back up data before starting a migration.
Profiles, multisite, and command-line workflows
- Migration profiles: Save settings for recurring transfers.
- Multisite tools: Push a subsite to a single-site installation or migrate a subsite between multisite networks.
- WP-CLI integration: Run migrations from the command line.
- Priority email support: Pro includes priority email support.
Developers can use the plugin to move changes between development and staging or transfer a completed site to another environment. Agencies and site managers can use targeted database transfers when a full database copy is unnecessary.
Set up and review a migration
Install and activate WP Migrate Pro, then open the plugin interface. Create or select a migration profile, choose the source and destination workflow, and select a full-site transfer or specific database content. Review the tables, post types, files, exclusions, backup option, and destination before starting the migration.
WP Migrate can exclude spam comments. During migrations, plugins enter compatibility mode by default and do not load for migration requests; you can enable specific plugins in the administration interface when needed.
