Generate PDF using Contact Form 7 Pro creates PDF documents from Contact Form 7 submissions. Configure PDF settings for each form, then show a download link or open the PDF in a new browser tab after successful submission. You can also attach PDFs to notification emails for users, administrators, or both.
Build each PDF from form data
Use the editor to add submitted values, form tags, special Contact Form 7 mail tags, and a thank-you message. Set a filename with form tags, add header and footer text or a logo, and adjust fonts, formatting, and page numbers. The editor supports HTML and CSS within the capabilities of the mPDF library.
- Preview PDFs in the admin area before saving or sending them.
- Use templates, page breaks, and page size settings to shape the document.
- Add a background image, colors, gradients, custom CSS, or watermark text.
- Include uploaded form files in PDFs and add a file alongside the PDF in an email.
- Use a signature field to capture a user's signature and include it as an image in the PDF.
- Password-protect PDFs, and use compression to reduce file size.
- Show or hide field labels, and use an acceptance tag beginning with
[acceptance-]to display acceptance values.
Choose how PDFs reach people
After a successful form submission, a PDF can open in a new tab or appear as a link in the success message. You can also attach a dynamically generated or predefined PDF to Mail 1 or Mail 2, with flexible email address settings. Enable or disable PDF attachments for each email.
Review submissions and activity
The PDF Submission List keeps generated PDFs available for viewing and download. Submitted data can be saved in the database and exported as CSV. A separate PDF menu provides access to created PDF forms and their settings.
The Pro analytics dashboard reports PDFs generated, downloads, and emails sent. It includes error monitoring, charts for daily, monthly, yearly, or custom date ranges, and recent activity with user email, actions, and timestamps. Dashboard widgets can be enabled or disabled.
Storage and configuration
Store PDFs on the server or use Amazon S3, Google Drive, or Dropbox. Plugin settings can be exported and imported to reuse configuration across sites. To get started, open the settings for a Contact Form 7 form, create or select its PDF configuration, add content and fields, choose a filename and delivery method, then preview and save it.
