Woody Pro lets you add and manage custom code from the WordPress admin without editing theme files. Create PHP snippets for functions, hooks, classes and global variables, along with JavaScript, CSS and HTML snippets. Text snippets hold reusable content, ad snippets can hold ads or banners, and universal snippets combine PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Where can snippets run?
Choose automatic insertion or add snippets with shortcodes. Placement options include the site header and footer, before or after post and page content, around selected paragraphs, on archive and taxonomy pages, and between posts on archive pages.
- On WooCommerce pages, place snippets before or after product lists, individual products or product summaries.
- Add snippets after a product title, price or excerpt.
These placements can support uses such as analytics and conversion tracking, promotional banners, custom scripts and trust notices.
Which conditions can control a snippet?
Conditions determine when code runs or content appears. The standard options include user role and registration date, page, post type or taxonomy, referrer and cookie value. Woody Pro adds checks for device type, browser, operating system, JavaScript availability, ad blocker detection, country, visit depth, time of day and total visits. Combine conditions with AND or OR logic.
How can you reuse and manage snippets?
Insert snippets in posts, pages, widgets and page builders with shortcodes, or use the Woody Snippets block. Pro lets you give shortcodes custom names that are easier to read and reuse across sites. Tags, cloning, priorities and import or export tools help organize snippets and control their execution order. Pro also saves revisions so you can compare earlier versions and restore one when needed. Cloud based templates let you save snippets and reuse them across multiple sites.
What does the editor include?
The built in editor has syntax highlighting, line numbers, configurable indentation and tab size, optional line wrapping, automatic bracket and quote closing, and highlighting for matching variables and functions.
What should you check before enabling code?
Add Woody Pro to WordPress, create a snippet, choose its type and placement, define any conditions, then enable it. Review custom code before it runs because unverified or outdated code may affect site security or stability. Woody does not support multisite installations.
