Username Changer Pro is the paid edition for updating WordPress usernames after registration. It lets administrators change a name from a user profile while preserving posts, metadata, and other associations. Use it for a single account or to manage larger sets of usernames.
Choose an individual or bulk workflow
For one account, open the user’s profile and update the username. The plugin also works with Co-Authors Plus and other author plugins to help preserve author relationships after a change.
For larger projects, the Bulk Username Updater supports inline editing and CSV import and export for updating hundreds of usernames. This can help agencies standardize client accounts, organizations apply naming conventions, or site owners address migration issues and consolidated accounts.
Review changes and notify users
The Audit Log records username changes with timestamps and IP addresses. Administrators can export the entries as CSV for review or internal administration. Email notifications can also be sent when usernames change.
Pro tools and compatibility
- Nickname support and configurable username rules.
- Username sanitization to help prevent security issues.
- Multisite compatibility and support for any WordPress theme.
- Per-site license activation with automatic background verification.
- Settings for notifications and message strings.
Set up username management
Install and activate Username Changer, then open the username tools in the WordPress user area. Individual changes are made from a user profile. The settings page is under Users → Username Changer and includes settings, help, Pro features, and support. Pro administrators can use the bulk updater and audit tools for larger account updates.
Depending on the site’s configured rules and workflow, members may also be allowed to change their own usernames.
