WordPress popups for messages and media
Modal Window Pro is a paid edition of the Modal Window WordPress plugin. Use it to present announcements, promotions, contact options, event information, or other content in a popup, without creating a separate page. A modal can contain simple text or a more involved layout with images, media, forms, and other material.
Content editor and shortcodes
Add and format text, images, and other material in the built-in HTML content editor. Shortcodes extend the available content: use them to add responsive YouTube or Vimeo videos, embed external pages or interactive content through iframes, create link or close buttons, add Font Awesome icons, and arrange content in rows and columns.
- Video shortcodes add responsive YouTube or Vimeo videos.
- iFrame shortcodes embed external pages or interactive content.
- Button shortcodes create links or controls that close the modal.
- Icon shortcodes add Font Awesome icons.
- Layout shortcodes arrange content in rows and columns.
Triggers and floating buttons
Choose how a modal opens: after a click, on a timer, when a visitor hovers over an element, when exit intent is detected, or in response to scrolling. A floating button can also open a modal. Its position, icon, text, and animation are customizable; animation styles include bounce, pulse, and shake.
Styling and screen sizes
Adjust modal titles, close buttons, backgrounds, shadows, and scrollbar presentation. Set different modal widths for mobile devices, and choose to hide selected modals on mobile or desktop screens.
Accessibility and display frequency
ARIA attributes, including aria-live and role="dialog", provide screen reader support. Visitors can close a modal through the overlay or by pressing Esc. Cookies control how often a modal appears, including a show-once setting for returning visitors.
Setup and moving settings
Add Modal Window Pro to a WordPress site and create a modal. Enter its content with the editor or shortcodes, select a trigger, adjust styling and responsive settings, then choose display controls such as cookie-based frequency. Import and export tools let you move modal settings between websites.
