Easy WP SMTP Pro for WordPress Email Delivery

Route WordPress email through a configured connection

Easy WP SMTP Pro sends outgoing WordPress messages through an authenticated SMTP server or supported transactional mailer instead of relying on the hosting server's default PHP mail() function. Its setup wizard guides connection setup. For Google accounts, you can sign in and authorize the plugin to send messages on your behalf.

Routing through an authenticated mailer can help with delivery, but does not guarantee inbox placement. The plugin manages the sending route and its diagnostics; final delivery also depends on the mail provider and recipient systems.

Connect a mailer or SMTP server

Available connections include SendLayer, Amazon SES, Gmail, Google Mail, Google Workspace, Mailgun, Mailjet, Microsoft 365, Outlook, SendGrid, Brevo, SMTP.com, Postmark, SparkPost, SMTP2GO, Zoho Mail, and Other SMTP. The published feature list identifies Amazon SES, Google, Microsoft 365 and Outlook, and Zoho Mail as Pro mailer options.

Choose Other SMTP to enter details for another server, including its host, port, username, password, and encryption settings. Once configured, the selected connection handles outgoing WordPress email.

Review and resend messages

Email Logs keep a record of messages sent from the site. You can review message details, store attachments, resend or forward an individual email, or resend messages in bulk. Logs can be filtered and exported to CSV, EML, Excel, or PDF, and individual emails can be printed.

Open and click tracking records engagement. Email Reports summarize sending, failures, opens, and clicks, with activity grouped by subject line. An enhanced dashboard widget and weekly email summary provide additional views of email activity.

Investigate failures and manage sending

  • Debug Events record failed sending attempts, including the error and the plugin that sent the email. Enable Debug Email Sending to record all attempts when investigating a problem.
  • Email Alerts notify you about failed sends through email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, SMS, or custom webhooks.
  • Backup Connection provides a secondary route that can retry delivery if the primary connection fails.
  • Smart Conditional Routing sends different types of email through different mailers, using supported filters such as subject, message content, sender or recipient address, and the plugin that generated the message.
  • Rate Limiting sets sending limits by minute, hour, day, week, or month and manages the queue to stay within the configured limits.
  • Optimized Email Sending queues messages for background sending when server resources are available, helping avoid site slowdowns and bottlenecks.

Set up and use the plugin

  1. Install and activate Easy WP SMTP on your WordPress site.
  2. Choose a supported mailer or Other SMTP in the configuration settings.
  3. Use the setup wizard to enter connection details or authorize the selected account.
  4. Send WordPress email through the configured connection.
  5. Review logs, reports, or tracking information, and use debug events, alerts, or a backup connection when delivery needs attention.

On WordPress Multisite, network administrators can manage settings and review logs, reports, debug events, and exports for subsites from a central dashboard.
