Donation buttons and recurring schedules
Accept Donations with PayPal & Stripe Pro adds recurring contribution options to WordPress donation buttons. Donors can use a PayPal account or pay by credit card through Stripe. Add buttons to posts, pages, widget areas, or other supported site locations.
Configure donations to recur daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, or set them to recur forever. A recurring-donation dropdown can let donors choose a schedule. Pro also supports up to 20 preset amount choices in a dropdown, compared with 10 in the standard setup described for the base features.
Configure buttons for each campaign
Use the Button Manager to create donation buttons and generate shortcodes for placement. You can put multiple buttons on the same post or page, or use different buttons across your site.
Configure each button separately with its language and currency, button image, and PayPal account. Choose from seven PayPal donation button designs or upload your own image, and select how the PayPal window opens.
Payment setup and administration
The settings area includes instructions for connecting PayPal and Stripe, plus guidance for setting up Sandbox accounts to test the payment flow with test accounts and fake money. The plugin has built-in support for 18 languages and 25 currencies, which can be set per button.
View donations in the WordPress admin area and use the dashboard widget to see recent sales. A donation widget is also available for visitors.
Set up and place a button
- Install the plugin and configure the required values on its settings page.
- Connect the payment services you plan to use.
- Open the button page, create and configure a donation button, then copy its shortcode.
- Add the shortcode to the post, page, or other supported site location where the button should appear.
- Follow the Sandbox instructions to test the button and payment flow before inviting public donations.
