When visitors need larger text or different colors, WP Accessibility Helper Pro provides an accessibility sidebar with display controls. Site owners can also use its content and layout controls to manage image details, links, and page structure.
Display and reading controls
Font resizing is available through REM, zoom, or script methods. Use REM resizing when the theme is built with REM units. The script method adjusts headings and links, and includes a reset button when selected. Other reading options include a readable font switch to Arial and web-safe font family settings.
- Contrast modes with custom colors, plus Lights Off, grayscale images, and inverted colors and images
- Dark and Light Themes controls
- Options to underline or highlight links and remove CSS animations
- Controls to hide the accessibility interface on mobile devices and position the sidebar on the left or right
- Drag-and-drop ordering for sidebar widgets
Content and markup controls
The attachments control center uses AJAX functions to manage images, attachment titles, and alt text from one place.
Additional controls can add role="link" to anchor elements, remove title attributes from links, and work with HTML5 landmarks.
Keyboard access and setup
Visitors can open the sidebar with Alt+Z and close it with Alt+X. Skip links include an option inside the sidebar. Contrast selections can be saved in user cookies and cleared from cookies.
Install the plugin through the WordPress plugin installation process, activate it, then configure the accessibility screen. If the accessibility icon is not visible, check that the theme includes wp_head(), wp_footer(), and body_class(). Review the controls across representative pages, including font, contrast, keyboard, link, image, and landmark settings.
Accessibility scope
The plugin provides tools for accessibility work, but it does not guarantee a 100% accessible result at A, AA, or AAA levels. Website code quality remains an important factor. The product information recommends consulting an expert for a fully accessible site.
