s2Member Pro: Membership Payments and Content Access

Choose how members get access

s2Member Pro extends the s2Member Framework for WordPress sites that sell memberships and manage protected areas. Memberships can use a single payment or recurring subscriptions, with member levels and custom capabilities to control access.

Protection can cover an entire site or selected posts, pages, categories, tags, custom post types, URLs, and other WordPress-served content. Shortcodes can restrict portions of posts, pages, themes, or plugins. The framework also protects downloads and streaming audio or video. Files can be stored locally or through its Amazon S3 and CloudFront integrations.

  • Sell access to memberships, specific posts or pages, and file downloads.
  • Use membership content dripping and custom capabilities to control access to specific content.
  • Automatically demote member access when paid access time ends.
  • Limit IP addresses and simultaneous logins to help prevent account sharing.

Shortcodes support standard configuration without requiring PHP code, with options for developer-led customization.

Which payment and registration tools are included?

The s2Member Framework supports PayPal Website Payments Standard. Pro adds Stripe, PayPal Pro, Authorize.Net, and ClickBank. Its on-site one-step checkout forms support Stripe, PayPal, and Authorize.Net, including single-step member registration and payment.

Pro also includes membership renewal reminder emails, custom redirects after payment, coupon codes, gift or redemption codes, custom member offer redirects after login, and a Pro API for integrations. Optional beta Pro-Form protections include honeypot and configurable Speedtrap checks, plus Google reCAPTCHA v2 or v3, or Cloudflare Turnstile. Only one external bot-check provider can be active at a time. Akismet screening applies to Pro-Forms that create new WordPress user accounts.

How are member accounts and communities managed?

Pro supports unlimited membership levels and a public members directory, with tools to bulk import, update, and export member records. Login and registration forms can be placed in posts or pages. Site owners can customize the WordPress login and registration appearance, profile fields, welcome emails, notifications for signups and payments, and post-login redirects.

Integrations include tracking software, email list services such as Mailchimp, bbPress, and BuddyPress. The plugin is compatible with well-coded themes, including Elementor and Divi.

When is the Unlimited Sites edition required?

The standard Pro edition suits a single WordPress membership project. s2Member Pro for Unlimited Sites is the edition identified for Multisite Networking. With Multisite enabled and the Framework and Pro active, open s2Member → Multisite (Config) on the network's main site.

Set up and test the membership flow

Install the s2Member Framework in WordPress and enable Pro. Choose the content and member levels to protect, then configure payment forms, registration settings, redirects, and notifications. Before opening the membership area, test registration, payment, access restrictions, and protected downloads.
