Organize uploads with a virtual folder tree
Real Media Library Pro adds subfolders to WordPress media management, so you can sort images, audio, videos, documents, and other uploads into a structure that fits your site. The folders are virtual: the plugin does not move files in the physical uploads directory. If you uninstall it, the media library returns to its previous organization.
Arrange folders and files
Create, rename, move, and delete folders, then use subfolders to group media by project, department, campaign, or content type. Rearrange folders and files with drag and drop, set a custom file order, or sort by criteria such as title, date, or name.
Shortcuts let the same file appear in multiple folders without making another physical copy or using additional storage. Folders can hold different file types and collections. Collections can contain other collections and gallery folders, while gallery folders hold images for use in a visual gallery.
Upload and find media in context
The upload manager displays current status, remaining time, and upload speed. Choose a folder in the WordPress media upload dialog to send files directly there. When inserting media into content, use the folder tree in the dialog to filter the library and locate files.
Quick folder search helps navigate larger trees. You can bulk-select folders for deletion, browse the library in list mode, and manage it on touch devices.
Create galleries and connect your workflow
Use images in a gallery folder to create a dynamic gallery in the Gutenberg editor with a block or shortcode. Managing the folder contents gives you a way to update the gallery's source images through the media library.
The plugin is Gutenberg-ready and compatible with major themes, page builders, and many plugins. WordPress Multisite is supported, with a separate folder tree for each site.
Developer tools and data handling
Developers can use the JavaScript API with React or plain JavaScript, WordPress actions and filters, an extensible PHP API, and REST API endpoints. The plugin does not collect personal data without consent.
