Account troubleshooting from the user’s perspective
Login as User PRO is for site administrators, customer support agents, and store managers investigating account-specific issues. An authorized person can select Login as beside a registered user, review the site as that user, then select Go back to admin to return to the original account. This can help when a customer reports a missing order, a member cannot access a course, or a subscriber sees an unexpected menu.
The plugin states that it does not request, store, or expose users’ passwords and uses WordPress’s native authentication system to switch accounts.
PRO integrations
In WooCommerce, the Login as User control appears in the Orders list and the order details metabox. WooCommerce Subscriptions adds it to subscription lists and detail screens. These entry points can help support staff review checkout, refunds, missing orders, or subscription issues from the customer’s view.
For MemberPress, you can switch accounts from Members, Subscriptions, and Transactions to check access to protected content. For SureCart, the control is available in Customers and Orders lists.
Role and account permissions
PRO lets site managers limit which roles can use the feature and which users they can impersonate. For example, Shop Managers can be allowed to switch into Customer accounts while being blocked from impersonating Administrators or Editors.
Button placement and appearance
Use the shortcode to place a Login as User button where needed. Its values set the user, redirect destination, and button text:
[login_as_user user_id="357" redirect_to="/my-account" button_name="Login as $USER"]
For Users, WooCommerce, and SureCart tables, settings control whether the button column appears, its position, and its size: Small, Medium, or Large. Custom CSS can style the frontend message bar and administration buttons without editing plugin files. The frontend bar can also provide a route back to the administrator account when the support session ends.
Support workflow
- Open the relevant user, order, subscription, member, customer, or transaction area.
- Select the Login as User control for the account you need to inspect.
- Review the site or connected account area from that user’s perspective.
- Select Go back to admin when troubleshooting is finished.
Installation and settings
Install Login as User PRO on the WordPress site where account troubleshooting is needed. In the plugin settings, configure permitted roles, redirects, button appearance, list columns, frontend message behavior, integrations, shortcode use, and custom CSS.
