About
firewood
"For the feeding of the terracotta stove it
is recommended to be used hardwood with intact texture.
Softwood and coniferous wood are unappropiate for this
task, because they burn too fast and the majority of
the generated heat is released through the chimney,
overloading the structures of the stove and the chimney.
The rough wood contains a lot of water which is lost
through the process of storaging. When the tree is cut
the moisture content is generally around 50-60 percent,
and the firewood is considered fully dried only after
two years. There can be even 40 percent difference in
heating value between rough wood and dry wood."
